Goals and Measures

Talk About TC is a collective impact initiative, organized by the Testicular Cancer Society, to end deaths from testicular cancer in the state of Ohio by the year 2020.

Ending deaths from testicular cancer is a complex continuum that no single organization can achieve.

Through our shared agendas we are working in concert with our partners to simultaneously improve testicular cancer awareness, access to care and quality of care.

Through our shared our goals and  measurements we are able to reinforce our individual activities and continuously communicate our progress in order to achieve our primary goal of ending deaths from testicular cancer in Ohio by the year 2020.

Talk About TC Goals

PRIMARY: Eliminate DEATHS from Testicular Cancer in Ohio

This is pretty simple. No men in Ohio will die from testicular cancer by the year 2020.

SECONDARY: To Reduce the BURDEN of Testicular Cancer in Ohio

When diagnosed and treated at an early stage the burden of treatment for testicular cancer is much lower than seen at later stages. By reducing the percentage of late stage diagnosis we can reduce the morbidity, cost of treatment (both medical and loss of productivity), and long term adverse effects of the diagnosis.

SECONDARY: To Increase Testicular Cancer AWARENESS and EDUCATION in Ohio

We will increase public awareness and education about testicular cancer via our #TalkAboutTC campaign as well as the campaigns of our partners.

SECONDARY: To Increase ACCESS to Health Care in Ohio

Lack of insurance is the biggest burden in accessing health care. By working with our partners, as well as our #TalkAboutTC campaign, we will encourage Ohioans to enroll in health insurance plans to reduce the number of uninsured.

SECONDARY: To Increase QUALITY of Care for Testicular Cancer in Ohio

Working with our partners we will increase the medical education available for testicular cancer and encourage proper referrals to centers of excellence for testicular cancer care.

SEONDARY BENEFICIAL EFFECTS

Testicular cancer does not live in a vacuum and we realize that many of our efforts will also have beneficial effects on the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer community as well as change the behavior of men, in general, in regards to their health care.
