Who should participate in #TalkAboutTC?
If you believe there is value in preventing men from dying from testicular cancer then you should get involved.
In order to make the #TalkAboutTC mission a reality we need participation from collaborators that span from public to private and across corporate, civic, educational, health and nonprofit sectors. With a broad cross-sector coordination and partnership, Ohio will become the model for other states to follow.
Your help is essential. Whether you’re an individual grassroots advocate or a group partner that shares the common agenda of wanting healthier employees, customers, members, patients, students and citizens, we can find a way for you to participate.
The continuum of testicular cancer is complex and involves Awareness, Access to Care and Quality of Care. Focusing on or fixing just one area will have little affect on ending deaths from testicular cancer unless all areas of the continuum are improved at the same time.
We can’t do it alone. Your efforts and ideas are important so please help us by taking an active roll in #TalkAboutTC.
The best thing is that you get to decide how involved you want to be.
Not sure what to do to participate?
That’s OK. We can help uncover talents, leverages and resources that you may not even realize you have but that will be incredibly beneficial to the #TalkAboutTC initiative.
Below are just a few ideas.
Participating is easy and raising awareness is one of the biggest challenges we face.
While testicular cancer is the leading cause of cancer in guys age 15-35, it can occur at any age. It isn’t just guys that need to hear our messages as the women in men’s lives are often the ones that drive the family health and encourage guys to go to the doctor. Likewise, parents know their kids best and we need their help with education at home.
Your level of participation is up to you and should be within your capacity. Maybe you only want to do something for Testicular Cancer Awareness Month in April or Men’s Health Month in June or Men’s Cancer Awareness in November. That’s cool.
You can develop your own programs, collaborate with our #TalkAboutTC campaign or simply replicate our messages on social media. It’s your choice.
Whatever you decide we can definitely use your help.
