Half of Ohioans Can’t Identify Leading Cause of Young Male Cancer
A January 2015 survey indicated that only 47% of Ohioans can identify testicular cancer as the leading cause of cancer in men age 15-35.
The survey, conducted by Talk About TC, asked 1000 Ohioans over the age of 18, “What is the leading cause of cancer in males age 15-35” Respondents were offered 6 choices in a random order multiple-choice format.
47% of respondents correctly answered Testicular Cancer
17% of respondents answered Colorectal Cancer
17% of respondents answered Skin Cancer
11% of respondents answered Leukemia
7% of respondents answered Lymphoma
1% of respondents answered Brain Cancer
The survey was conducted as part of the Talk About TC initiative to end deaths from testicular cancer in the state of Ohio by the year 2020.
